Terms of use

Last updated 17 August 2026

The rules for using mquiz. Short, because there is not much to it: you make quizzes, children answer them, and everybody behaves.

Draft — not yet reviewed by a solicitor. This describes what mquiz actually does, written plainly and honestly. It has not been checked by a lawyer. If you are a school weighing this up for a data protection impact assessment, treat it as a factual description of the software rather than as finished legal terms.

Who can use it

Anyone can play a quiz from a join code without an account. Accounts are open to anyone, at any age. mquiz is built for children as much as for teachers, and plenty of the people making quizzes here are the same age as the people answering them.

What you make stays yours

Quizzes you write remain yours. By making a quiz public or adding it to a shared pack, you allow other mquiz users to play it and to see it listed. You can make it private again at any time.

Do not upload anything you do not have the right to use, and do not put anything into a quiz that you would not be happy for a class of children to read.

Behaviour

These will get an account closed:

  • Abuse, bullying or harassment of anyone, including through a chosen display name.
  • Sexual, violent or hateful content anywhere a child might see it.
  • Trying to change your score, your points or your account from outside the game. This is detected automatically and repeated attempts close the account without a warning.
  • Trying to reach another person's account or data.
  • Automated or bulk use that degrades the service for a class trying to use it.

Bad language is blanked out automatically, and a record of it is kept. Where an account is closed you will be shown the reason. If you think it is wrong, tell your teacher, or get in touch and it will be looked at.

Points, avatars and themes

Points are earned by playing and by other people playing your quizzes, and can be spent on avatars and colour themes. They have no monetary value, cannot be bought, cannot be exchanged for anything outside mquiz, and are not refundable. Prices may change.

What is promised, and what is not

mquiz is provided as it is. It is kept available and correct as far as possible, but there is no promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of mistakes, and it should not be relied on as the only record of a pupil's work or as a formal assessment tool.

Features may change or be withdrawn. Where a change removes something you rely on, notice will be given in advance where possible.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. An account that breaks the rules above may be closed.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Nothing here affects rights you have as a consumer that cannot be signed away, or your rights under data protection law — see Privacy.
